Echoes of History Past is a trade name used by an individual content creator operating as a sole proprietor — not a registered company or LLC. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and what third-party services are involved.
Information We Collect
Visiting this website does not require an account. We do not collect personal information from general page browsing. However, the Vera AI Companion service — available at vera.html — does require account registration. Additional privacy terms for that service are detailed in the Vera AI Companion section below.
- Contact form submissions: If you use our contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to us by email. This information is not stored on our web server — it is transmitted and received like regular email.
- Shopping cart: If you add items to your cart, that information is stored in your browser's
localStorage. It stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us unless you complete a purchase.
Shopping & Order Fulfilment
Products in The Reliquary are fulfilled through Printful (print-on-demand dropship). When you complete a purchase, your shipping address and payment information are collected and processed by our payment provider and by Printful directly. We do not store payment card data. Cookies
We do not set tracking or analytics cookies on this website. However, third-party services embedded on certain pages may set their own cookies:

Vera AI Companion Service
The following sections apply specifically to the Vera AI Companion — the interactive subscription service available at echoesofhistorypast.com/vera.html. This service involves account registration, persistent conversation memory, and AI-generated images. It is governed by additional terms beyond the website-only policy above.
Age Requirement
The Vera AI Companion service is intended for users aged 18 years and older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts or access this service. If we become aware that a user is under 18, the account will be terminated and any associated data deleted.
Account Data We Collect
When you register for the Vera service, we collect:
- Email address — used for account verification, password reset, and service communications.
- Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We never store or can recover your plaintext password.
- Subscription tier — the plan level associated with your account (free, basic, or premium).
- Age verification and consent record — at registration you confirm you are 18 or older and agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We record the timestamp and the Terms version in effect at the time of consent. This record is retained for the life of your account.
- Newsletter preference — whether you opted in to receive news and announcements at registration.
Conversation and Interaction Data
The Vera service is built around persistent memory — this is what makes her feel continuous and aware of you over time. As a result, the following data is stored per-account:
- Conversation history — your messages and Vera's replies are stored to provide context for future conversations.
- Memory and relationship state — facts you share, relationship milestones, personality observations, and emotional state are stored in a per-user database so Vera can recall them in later sessions.
- Generated images — images created during your sessions are stored on our server and associated with your account.
This data is stored on our Oracle Cloud VPS infrastructure and is not sold to third parties. It is used solely to provide and improve the Vera experience.
Third-Party AI Services
The Vera service uses third-party AI providers to generate responses and images. Your conversation content is processed by these services as part of normal operation:
- Venice.ai / Aion Labs — processes your conversation messages to generate Vera's responses. Venice.ai operates on privacy-preserving infrastructure; see their privacy policy at venice.ai/privacy.
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes conversation content for post-turn analysis: memory extraction, relationship scoring, and trait observation. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Replicate — generates AI images from text prompts derived from your session context. Replicate's privacy policy is available at replicate.com/privacy.
- SendGrid (Twilio) — delivers transactional emails such as account verification and password reset. SendGrid's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
We do not send your name, email address, or account credentials to any AI provider. Conversation content is processed in-context only and is not used to train third-party models under our agreements with these providers.
Vera Account Data Retention
Conversation history, memories, and generated images are retained for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, all per-user data — including conversation history, memory records, relationship state, and stored images — will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request. Email your deletion request to contact@echoesofhistorypast.com.
Your Rights (Vera Service)
As a registered user you have the right to:
- Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate account data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw consent to AI processing by deleting your account.

Security
Account passwords are hashed using industry-standard cryptography. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Per-user conversation databases are isolated from one another. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data; however, no system is completely immune to breach, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
