Commitment
Echoes of History Past is committed to making its public website, articles, store pages, account entry points, and related digital experiences usable by people with disabilities. Our working target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with WCAG 2.1 Level AA treated as the baseline for current U.S. digital accessibility expectations.
Current Practices
- Pages use semantic HTML, page titles, language declarations, skip links, and responsive layout.
- Images that communicate meaning should have useful alternative text. Decorative images may use empty alt text only when the surrounding content already provides the same information.
- Links, controls, forms, and embedded media should have accessible names.
- Text and interface elements should meet WCAG AA contrast expectations.
- Daily maintenance includes an automated accessibility check for common regressions.
Known Limits
Automated checks do not prove full compliance. They catch common failures, but manual keyboard review, screen reader review, and real user feedback remain necessary. Third-party services such as YouTube, PayPal, Printful, Google, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and AI providers may have their own accessibility behavior outside this site's direct control.
Report a Barrier
If you cannot access part of the site, email support@echoesofhistorypast.com or use the contact page. Please include the page URL, the assistive technology or browser involved if applicable, and what you were trying to do. Accessibility reports should receive priority review.
Continuous Review
Accessibility is treated as an operational maintenance issue, not a one-time redesign task. New articles and site changes are expected to preserve accessible names, contrast, keyboard navigation, readable structure, and accurate metadata.
